Journalist reports that club "will sell to Liverpool" but a creative offer is needed

You may be getting tired of hearing about Andre Trindade, especially in light of claims Liverpool are no longer interested, but it appears that it comes down to money.

The Merseyside club is reportedly "baffled" by continued links to the midfielder but Brazilian reporter Emmanuel Luiz, who specialises in sports law and management, has provide clarity on the situation.

Brazilian reporter provides clarity on Liverpool's Andre transfer hopes

Speaking to the Redmen TV, Luiz claims that Fulham are ahead of the Reds in the race to sign Andre in January but only due to the creative offer they made.

Liverpool can still win the race but they will need to do some creative negotiating themselves otherwise Fluminense will simply sell to the highest bidder which is Fulham at this stage.

Luiz gave a lot of detail in his interview so here's everything he said on Andre verbatim...

Luiz said: "So I’m going to be loud and clear for you guys. We already talked about £40m being the release clause.

"Fulham and Liverpool were in the race, Andre really wanted Liverpool in the middle of the year, it remains really clear, Andre wants Liverpool, but the most important thing right now, Andre wants Liverpool, but Fulham, and I confirmed this, I spoke to some guys at the club and they said that Andre will play for the club that makes the best offer to Fluminense.

“He wants Liverpool, and Liverpool wants to pay like £30m, but what Fulham did, they said to Fluminense, he has a £40m release clause, what we want to do as Fulham is to pay the release clause and have some sort of add-on clause, Andre wants Liverpool, but what I think will happen is that if Liverpool come with £35m for him and a 20% clause, they will sell to Liverpool.”

Fulham wanted Andre in January 2023 but they and their £18 million offer were sent packing with Fluminense holding out for a bigger pay day.

It's no surprise that the Brazilian club is willing to play hardball and demand what they're owed for a player that just became a South American champion.
