Liverpool use agent connections as £30M summer transfer for attacker is prepared

Liverpool are preparing a move to sign Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville in the summer transfer window with the player’s agent set to play a key role.

A move to sign the speedy winger will reportedly cost in the region of £30 million and it's one that Neil Jones has said makes more sense than signing PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko, who is another young wide player the Reds have been considering for a potential summer transfer.

Summerville, who has 12 goals and six assists this season, is an exciting target for Liverpool and they have a connection with his representatives that could prove advantageous.

Crucially, there is no longer a release clause in his contract which was previously set at £20.5 million. This gives Leeds the ability to negotiate a higher fee with it believed that it will cost in the region of £30 million.

This may also depend on whether or not Leeds are able to secure promotion back to the Premier League after being relegated in the 2022/23 season.

Liverpool have "good connections with the winger's agency" and a potential move does not depend on whether or not Mohamed Salah leaves the club in the summer.

The Egyptian is strongly linked with a massive money move to the Saudi Pro League. Some reports suggest it's a "done deal" while others suggest he is close to a million-dollar transfer. Others claim he is now open to renewing his Liverpool contract.

Summerville is represented by Wasserman, who also managed the affairs of Curtis Jones and Joe Gomez. These connections could prove advantageous for the Reds.
