Cost of Liverpool signing Florian Wirtz skyrockets 86% to reach new £100M valuation

Liverpool may have already been priced out of the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen starlet Florian Wirtz as new data suggests it will now cost £100 million to bring him to Anfield in the summer.

The 20-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Bundesliga this season and is naturally being linked with a move to some of the top clubs around Europe.

Xabi Alonso has turned this Bayer Leverkusen side into one of the most attractive teams on the continent, topping the Bundesliga table after 16 games. The German side is four points clear at the summit as Bayern trail.

A key reason for this has been the form of Wirtz. In 23 games in all competitions, the young attacking midfielder has eight goals and 12 assists.

Recent reports have linked Liverpool with an audacious move to sign Florian Wirtz with claims being made that the Reds are preparing a bid to sign him.

However, a deal to sign Wirtz will be very, very pricing.

This shouldn't come as a surprise given his talent and recent performances.

CIES Football Observatory reports that his transfer value has skyrocketed by 86%. They use a 'precise economic calculation model' that assesses and predicts market values with Wirtz now allegedly worth £100.5 million.

Liverpool paying that much for Wirtz seems unlikely and could prove the difference between not signing him and brining him to Anfield.

In November, Bayer Leverkusen managing director of football was quoted by Kicker after being asked about transfer interest in Wirtz.

Concisely, he said: “No, no one has approached us, and no one needs that.”
