FSG must offer immense Liverpool star a massive new contract - he's begging for it

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group must offer Ibrahima Konate a new contract with the Frenchman practically begging for a new deal.

Despite admitting that, as a Parisian, he would like to join PSG one day, Konate has made it abundantly clear that he wants to remain at Liverpool and win more trophies.

Speaking in an interview with French outlet Telefoot 1 ahead of the victories Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, Konate made sure to make his intentions very clear.

He said: “It’s clear that I want to stay a long time, it’s clear that I want to accomplish things.

"The most important thing to stay here is to set the bar high.”

Winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday was the third trophy the French defender has won with Liverpool after lifting the same trophy in 2022 along with the FA Cup.

FSG need to make sure that Konate is a long-term figure in this team because if he is, Liverpool will more than likely continue winning trophies at a rapid rate.

Ibrahima Konate is under contract with Liverpool FC until 30 June 2026. He earns around £70,000 per week, according to Capology, but with his contract set to enter the last two years, FSG should be hearing alarm bells ringing.
