Liverpool duo was "unbelievable" in Chelsea cup final win, says Conor Bradley

Liverpool beat Chelsea in a cup final for the third time in two years to lift the Carabao Cup trophy on Sunday evening following an intense match at Wembley.

Both sides had a goal disallowed each but ultimately, it was 'Jurgen Klopp's Kids' that got the job done.

One of the kids, 20-year-old Conor Bradley, was outstanding during the 72 minutes he was on the field.

And Bradley says Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate made the difference during what was a really closely contested final.

According to data from Sofascore, Between them, the two Liverpool centre-backs made nine clearances, six interceptions, five tackles and blocked three shots on goal.

They also won a combined four aerial duels. They were dominant.

Speaking on Liverpool FC's official podcast, Bradley sang his defensive partners' praises.

“Yeah, they were unbelievable. Obviously, skip Virgil, the two headers that he scored were brilliant,” Bradley said.

“And then Ibou, he’s so good at the back, so it’s so nice as a right-back to have them behind you, so confident for you.”

Liverpool may have relied on the class and experience of van Dijk and Konate at the back, but the likes of Conor Bradly, Jayden Danns, Bobby Clark and co. are the real heroes.

Chelsea will be kicking themselves for allowing a team comprised mostly of young players from the Liverpool academy were able to beat them in a cup final.
