Liverpool request "information" before proceeding with move to sign €50M Brazilian

Liverpool have been linked with a lot of teenagers over the past few weeks and this time, the Reds have been in contact with Fluminense again. The Reds are very interested in 16-year-old Matheus Reis.

As well know, Reis is not the only Fluminense player Liverpool would like to sign.

Andre Trindade has been a target of Jurgen Klopp's for several months and he could still join the club in January.

Regarding interest in Reis, Calciomercato report from Italy that Liverpool are one of the many clubs fighting to snap the 16-year-old up.

The teenager has a contract with Fluminense until March 2028 when he would be 21. It contains a €50 million release clause which hasn't scared the Reds away.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have all requested information on Reis as they weigh up a move for the Brazil U17 forward.

In order to sign him, Liverpool will also have to contest "the big Spanish ones" which it's safe to assume is a reference to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Reis is said to be a mix of Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus and Santos' Marcos Leonardo and has unerring composure in front of goal for such a young player.

While he has represented Brazil U17, Reis could still represent Mexico at senior level with the two South American nations battling for his talent even before he has made a senior appearance for Fluminense.

That's how highly rated he is.

Liverpool's youth ranks would welcome him and unlike some of the other big clubs like Chelsea, a move to Merseyside will not block his development once he's ready to play for the first team.
