Liverpool transfer was a “no-brainer” as manager confirms he’s “delighted”

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior is over the moon with the capture of Fabio Carvalho on loan with Liverpool fans hoping the 21-year-old can rediscover himself in the Championship.

The last couple of years have been tough for Carvalho.

After the joy of achieving Premier League promotion with Fulham while scoring and assisting 19 goals, he moved to Liverpool.

What should have been a high point in the young player's life turned into a year of frustration and stagnation as he appeared in Red for a total of just 728 minutes.

This season was then supposed to bring a chance to develop and grow in the Bundesliga, a league known for honing the talents of some of Europe's hottest talents.

However, with the arrival of Xavi Simons, Carvalho found himself resigned to the bench. Again, he made only a handful of appearances, playing just 360 minutes in Germany.

Now, he has been sent on loan to Hull City for the remainder of the 2023/24 season and the reception he has received from the Tigers should fill him with hope and excitement for the rest of his fledgling career.

Hull City manager delighted with Fabio Carvalho loan signing - calls it a "no brainer"

Head coach Liam Rosenior says he and the Hull family are "delighted" to have Carvalho at the club.

He said: "We're delighted he has decided to come here, for the right reasons. He wants to play and add to what we already have. Fabio coming in at anytime is the right time, he is a top player and I'm delighted he decided to come here.

"Even in the games where I watched him in Leipzig, the ability he has to take the ball, his bravery, his speed, his ability to press - he is an outstanding young player and fits into the way we play."

Carvalho speaks for the first time since Hull loan move

Speaking to Sky Sports, Carvalho has described the decision to move to Hull on loan as a "no-brainer."

He said: "It was a no-brainer, really. I like the way the team plays.

"The club has got ambitions and so do I. Hopefully we can combine those and have a successful second part of the season. I'm just excited to get out there and play with freedom, which is what the manager wants me to do. I'm excited to be here and can't wait to get started."
