£200,000/week wages threaten to derail potential agreement between Liverpool and Italian clubs

Juventus and Inter Milan are two of the sides interested in signing Thiago Alcantara but the Spaniard's wages may be too expensive for the Italian club

Thiago earns a reported £200,000/week at Anfield but, according to Tutto Juve, his "salary is scary".

They state that "renewal negotiations" between Liverpool and the 32-year-old midfielder "have stalled".

The midfielder's injurie issues have prevented him from shining at Anfield consistently which is a huge shame given his generational talent.

Inter Milan also want Thiago and are willing to offer him a two-year contract but he would have to accept "a much lower salary than what he currently earns at Liverpool."

Juve also deem his £10.4 million per year income as "out of reach".

Thiago rejected interest from the Saudi Pro League in the summer to stay at Liverpool but the former Barcelona midfielder has yet to make a single appearance this season.

He underwent surgery on his hip in February and has struggled with setbacks and slow recovery.

It remains to be seen when he will return to training with no clear timeline on when he will again play for the Reds.

While Liverpool are in the market for a new defensive midfielder after Fabinho's summer departure, another central midfielder will be needed to replace Thiago.

Andre makes the most sense to cover the issues at defensive midfield this season while also planning for a future without Thiago at left central midfield.
