Fabio Carvalho’s impressive loan spell at Hull City has caught the attention of several clubs across Europe, with Liverpool’s young forward now at the centre of a developing transfer battle.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the 21-year-old Portuguese attacker is drawing significant interest from a number of top clubs, including from Italy’s Serie A.

Fabio Carvalho, doing fantastic on loan to Hull City as he scored 8 goals in 16 games since he joined Championship side in January,” said Romano on Twitter on Sunday.

“Liverpool are happy with his performances while several clubs are showing interest ahead of summer window; Italian clubs and not only.”

Carvalho, who moved to Liverpool from Fulham in a deal valued at £5 million in the summer of 2022, found limited opportunities in his initial season at Anfield.

This led to a loan move to RB Leipzig, which unfortunately did not meet expectations as Carvalho managed only one start in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool subsequently terminated this arrangement early, opting instead for a second loan at Championship side Hull City in January.

Could Carvalho join Hull City permanently in the summer?

Since joining Hull, Carvalho has experienced a dramatic turnaround, scoring eight goals in just 16 appearances.

His performance has not only revitalised his career but also Hull’s ambitions.

Hull’s executive vice-chairman, Tan Kesler, who was desperate to sign Carvalho on loan, has expressed a strong interest in signing Carvalho permanently, especially if the club secures promotion to the Premier League.

Kesler shared with i News: “If we’re promoted for sure we will pursue him because of the money we would be receiving, we would try to allocate those finances on players like Fabio.

"It can be unrealistic expectations for some of our fans but we’re very optimistic. If any of this happens we will do it because he’s someone we would love to have long term.”

However, the lack of an option to buy in Carvalho’s loan deal means Hull will need to negotiate with Liverpool, which could see them face stiff competition for his signature. Currently, Hull sits six points away from the playoff positions, with a game in hand, leaving their promotion hopes uncertain.

Liverpool's decision not to include a buy option in Carvalho’s loan indicates they may still see a future for him at Anfield, or perhaps they are looking to maximise their return on any future transfer.

The final decision on Carvalho’s future is likely to rest with the incoming manager, with Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP expected to take over from Jurgen Klopp.
