“Would give me hope”: Andy Gray says Klopp has one thing on his side after losing to Palace

After Liverpool lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday, beIN Sports pundit Andy Gray says Liverpool should still have hope for one reason.

In a day full of setbacks for Jurgen Klopp's squad, they were unable to counteract a first-half strike from Ebere Eze, effectively leaving the title race to be determined by Arsenal and Manchester City.

This defeat adds to a disappointing week for the Reds, marked by a significant loss to Atalanta in European competition.

Now, Klopp and his coaching team face the formidable challenge of rallying the players for another critical week of the season.

Despite the somber mood among Liverpool fans and players as they departed Anfield, former Everton forward and current BEIN Sports analyst, Andy Gray, sees a silver lining for the Reds.

Andy Gray says there's reason for Liverpool to dream and hope

Andy Gray remains optimistic about Liverpool's chances despite the setback against Crystal Palace. While it was a disappointing loss, on another occasion, Liverpool could have easily dominated the match.

Ineffective finishing and frantic defending from Palace meant the Reds couldn’t breach Dean Henderson's defense in goal.

Yet, speaking on beIN, the ex-Sky commentator Gray pointed out that the sheer number of opportunities created by Liverpool is a positive sign, suggesting the title race is still open.

He began: “I get there’s a lot of disappointment around Liverpool but as a neutral, if I’m looking at that, what would give me hope that his [Klopp’s] side still have a chance?

“I tell you what would give me hope, maybe I’m wrong to say this, but a team that creates as many chances as that has eventually got to start taking them. If they don’t well, that’s that.

"But I would worry if Liverpool played today and hadn’t created 23 chances and I’d say five of them, were exceptionally good chances."

What must Jurgen Klopp do now?

Liverpool may be out of both the Europa League and Premier League silverware hunt which would make for a disappointing end to Jurgen Klopp's reign at Anfield.

The German needs to do everything he can to get his side back to winning ways but his players seem incapable of hitting the back of the net at the moment.

Which is not what I want to be writing days away from the Europa League quarter final second leg against Atalanta in which Liverpool need to score at least three goals without reply.

All we can do is hope that Liverpool are fortunate enough to turn this season around from here.
