Liverpool XI vs Everton: Latest team news and predicted lineup for huge Everton clash

Jurgen Klopp is preparing the final Merseyside derby of his Liveprool managerial career and he will have to do it without Diogo Jota after he was ruled out for two weeks.

The German tactician is likely to reinstate star players like Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez following the confirmation of Jota's two-week absence due to a hip injury.

The injury to the Portugal international, as Klopp noted, is minor but ill-timed given the crucial run of games approaching the season's end.

"He felt a little bit in the hip, but he was fine," Klopp said.

"It's a small one, but we are late in the season. It's not a great moment for any injury. It's two weeks, pretty much nothing but enough to be unavailable."

The Reds travel to Goodison Park after a crucial victory against Fulham, keeping them in the title race despite recent setbacks that pushed them down to third place in the standings.

The manager rotated his squad heavily in west London, with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ibrahima Konate among those rested.

Klopp justified the changes by citing the need for "fresh legs" during a busy schedule and noted that the team is in "the best situation we’ve had all year" following the easing of their long-standing injury crisis.

As a result, top talents like Salah and Nunez are expected to start against Everton.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Gakpo, Nunez.

Injuries: Conor Bradley, Thiago Alcantara, Ben Doak, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota.

Kick-off time and venue: 8 p.m. BST, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Goodison Park.

Latest Premier League table and title race implications

We all understand the stakes.

Liverpool have to win every game because Arsenal and Manchester City are.

Unfortunately most of the damage has been done in terms of the title race as even if Liverpool and Arsenal win their remaining games, Manchester City will win the title if they do the same.

But, this is Liverpool and until it's mathematically impossible, the Reds will keep going!
