Liverpool now face competition for 6ft5 goliath that left Man City in 2020

Newcastle United have entered the race to secure the signature of Fulham standout Tosin Adarabioyo

Adarabioyo, who left Manchester City in 2020, has emerged as a crucial figure for Fulham this season, notably forming a formidable defensive duo with Super Eagles star Calvin Bassey.

Their partnership at centre-back has been pivotal in ensuring Fulham remains 14 points clear of the relegation zone with only six games remaining in the season.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, it seems almost certain that Adarabioyo will depart Fulham as a free agent this summer.

Boasting an impressive resume with 104 appearances in the Championship and another 76 in the Premier League, the 26-year-old defender has attracted attention from several top clubs across Europe.

According to Soccernet.ng, AC Milan has shown interest since last summer, and English clubs including Liverpool and West Ham are also keen on Adarabioyo.

Bein Sports reports that Newcastle United have now also shown interest and have added the 26-year-old to their transfer list ahead of the summer.

Adarabioyo is a top player and is out of contract in the summer

Adarabioyo is an interesting player to watch this summer with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

With Joel Matip set to be a free agent this summer, signing the Nigerian for free would be a clever way to replace the Liverpool defender.

Incidentally, both players stand at 6ft5 so in that sense, the Reds wouldn't be losing anything but Matip's experience will be a huge miss.

He has been at Liverpool since 2016 and so this summer will mark the end of an eight-year long career at Anfield.

There's no doubt that the 32-year-old will be a huge miss as he has been since suffering an ACL tear in December.
