Liverpool can capitalise on Real Madrid "dressing room unrest" with double swoop

Liverpool can capitalise on Real Madrid "dressing room unrest" with double swoop

Liverpool are keeping an eye out for opportunities all over Europe in their quest to find a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah, and Real Madrid's Rodrygo could very well be on Jurgen Klopp's radar.

A recent report claims that Liverpool could "able to offer an amount close to €100m" to sign the Brazilian star. This is not the typical transfer fee you'd associate with the Merseyside club but if they are to sign Real Madrid star, that would be around what it would cost.

Eduardo Camavinga would also make a great addition to their midfield.

Liverpool should take advantage of Real Madrid unrest

According to the Mirror, both players have communicated their dissatisfaction with their current roles at the Santiago Bernabeu to Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian manger is "facing dressing room unrest" that could leave them vulnerable.

Rodrygo has been used centrally this season while Camavinga has found himself playing as a makeshift left-back – a switch that reportedly does not sit well with either player.

Rodrygo had a prolific season last year from a right-wing position, bagging 19 goals and 11 assists. But this year, in his new centre-forward position, he's managed just a single goal and one assist.

Interestingly, Rodrygo, who has been linked to Liverpool, admitted to preferring the winger position than that of a striker.

He said: "It's always important to be able to play in different roles. But I've always made it clear that it is better for me to play on the wings. I've always said I don't like playing as a number nine, although at my club I have to. I don't like it a lot," he said.

"Here in the national team, with Diniz's system, I have more mobility, I can move anywhere on the pitch, which has helped my game. It is important to know how to do different things. It helps you to avoid being substituted, it helps you play and be in the starting XI. You need to do what you are required to do, that is very important for me."

Signing Rodrygo and Camavinga could elevate Liverpool squad

Liverpool, now aware of the ongoing unrest at Real Madrid, may consider a strategic double swoop deal to sign both Rodrigo and Camavinga.

This could be a vital opportunity to strengthen the Liverpool squad, filling gaps left by players who may move on this summer. Rodrygo's versatility and skill could be a possible successor to Salah while Camavinga could boost Liverpool's midfield.

Recruiting players from the most successful club in European football would certainly be a statement from Liverpool.

And if they can capitalize on the unrest in Madrid, they could be strengthening themselves ahead of their hopeful return to the Champions League next season.

However, the success of such a move will heavily depend on if they can match the player's ambitions and provide them a better role, equivalent or superior to the ones they have in their current club.

It would also likely cost close to €200m to sign both player so would depend on how heavily Liverpool look to invest in their squad ahead of next season.
