Mbappe has not agreed Real Madrid deal as fresh life breathed into Liverpool hopes

A lot has been published on Kylian Mbappe's future of late but the French striker has not yet reached an agreement to join Real Madrid despite reports from France.

The prolific forward is out of contract in the summer but wants an "amicable" exit from the club, agreeing to forego an €80million loyalty bonus to leave as a free agent.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with several sources suggesting the Reds are a realistic destination.

However, these hopes were appeared to have been dashed on Sunday when a report from Foot Mercato in France claimed that Mbappe has reached an agreement with Real Madrid.

This has been refuted by the Times, who report that the 25-year-old has been left unimpressed by the La Liga outfit's attempts to pressure him into signing a pre-contract agreement this month.

Foot Mercato report that "Kylian Mbappe has reached an agreement with Real Madrid in recent days."

They claim that the "soap opera will come to an end" in an overview of the Frenchman's transfer antics in the last two years.

However, their claims have been refuted by the Times.

What has the Times reported?

The Times report that the PSG attacker has been left feeling "unimpressed" with Real Madrid's attempt to push him into signing a pre-contract agreement this month.

This would ensure that Mbappe would join Madrid in the summer when he would legally be free to sign an official contract with the Spanish giants.

Additionally, the Times adds that Mbappe wants to "explore a range of options" which includes a potential move to the Premier League as a free agent.

Kylian Mbappe's agents release statement 

To confirm this story even further, Mbappe's agents have released a statement, via RMC Sport.

It reads: “There is no agreement around Kylian’s future, especially since there are no discussions started about it.

"No type of influence could also dictate the timing of Kylian’s discussion, reflection or decision.” Like two years ago, Kylian Mbappé remains the “master of the clocks”.

When can Mbappe sign a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool or Real Madrid?

In line with FIFA rules, Mbappe is free to talk to interested clubs as a he is in the final six months of his contract.

He is also allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement. This is a written agreement that would commit the forward to signing a contract wwith his next club once his PSG deal expires on 30 June 2024.

This is a rule that exists as part of the Bosman ruling established in 1995.
