Theoretically, player can win treble with Liverpool on less than 90 minutes of game time

Liverpool lifted the 2023/24 Carabao Cup trophy on Sunday and the club's exciting youth talent has been making the headlines this morning after being called on to remedy the ongoing injury crisis.

When the news broke that Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai were confirmed absentees for the final, nerves were frayed among the Liverpool fanbase.

However, a dominant defensive display and a goal from Virgil van Dijk along with the counter-pressing and energy from the young players on the pitch saw Liverpool lift their tenth League Cup trophy.

The Reds are the competition's record holders and extended their lead at the top of the Carabao Cup winners' leaderboard.

With one trophy now in the bag, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will now turn their focus back to the other competitions.

First up is an FA Cup 5th Round fixture at Anfield against Southampton on Wednesday. It's likely Klopp will play the youngsters again in a bid to restore some energy to his first team players.

After reaching extra time playing the most intense tactical system in England, Liverpool will need every bit of energy they can reclaim.

Klopp still has three trophies he can win before leaving the club in the summer with the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League still up for grabs.

Jayden Danns, the 18-year-old that almost scored the winner with a header in extra-time, could set a unique record this season.

It's a big if, but if if Liverpool go onto win the treble or quadruple, the teenager could pick up winners' medals with a very low total of minutes played.

So far, Danns has appeared for a total of 34 minutes across the Premier League, and now the Carabao Cup.

Should he play in the FA Cup and Liverpool go onto win it along with the Premier League, Danns could claim a treble while playing fewer than 90 minutes.

As the teenage striker showed against Chelsea, he is more than capable of mixing it with the best and with a little more development, he could turn out to be yet another Liverpool Academy gem.
