Exciting 19-Year-Old Klopp Once Called “Our Best Player” Faces January Transfer

Stefan Bajcetic might be going on loan later this season after facing injury setbacks and stiff competition in his team

This possibility was addressed by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, with the 19-year-old has yet to play a game for Liverpool this season.

Jurgen Klopp hopes the youngster will return to training alongside Thiago Alcantara with a potential return slated for after the international break.

Could Bajcetic leave on loan in January?

Romano, who made his comments via Caught Offside, cited Bajcetic's injuries as a key reason why the youngster could leave on loan in the new year.

Despite this, Romano went on to stress that Bajcetic is still viewed as a crucial asset to Liverpool, describing him as an "important player for the present and future".

The Italian journalist said: “There’s also been some speculation about a possible loan move for youngster Stefan Bajcetic.

“He hasn’t played as much this season, partly due to injury problems, but he’s still considered an important player for present and future of the club, with Liverpool feeling they have a very talented prospect on their hands.

“It’s not looking easy for him to break back into the side with so many signings of course, but at the moment Liverpool have not made any decision on Bajcetic, so we will see what happens later this year.”

Does a loan for Bajcetic make sense?

Many fans will be loathe to see the teenager depart on loan given his impressive start to life at Anfield. Towards the end of last season, Bajcetic became a player fans that demanded to start every match.

After his stunning run of form last season, Klopp said: "Since he started playing for us, he has been our best player maybe so hopefully he keeps that confidence and keeps going."

A loan spell may dent his progression within the Liverpool squad but if chances to play will pass him by, an extended run in another Premier League side would be valuable.

Merseyside is home to numerous talented players, which can often make it a challenge for younger talents to break back into the main team following periods of absence.

Bajcetic is currently dealing with such a situation, as suggested by Romano. However, it remains unclear what Liverpool's exact stance on the player's future is.

A potential loan move could provide him with the necessary platform to get more minutes under his belt, subsequently helping him find his rhythm back after his recent injury problems.

The move could also allow the young star to gain invaluable experience, improve his skills, and come back to Liverpool ready to fight for a spot in the first-team squad.

At present, it appears that no official decision has been made regarding Bajcetic's potential loan move.

Fortunately, after signing four midfielders in the summer, Liverpool have plenty of talent to put to work while Bajcetic works his way back from injury.

Dominik Szoboszlai has been particularly impressive for the Reds this season with many tipping him to be the next Steven Gerrard.
