Sevilla planning Liverpool double swoop

La Liga side Sevilla are eyeing up moves for Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino this summer.

That is according to Spanish outlet La Ronza, who claim that Sevilla are keen on bringing both players to Spain.

They report that the Spanish club will be willing to pay around €15 million for Shaqiri and €10 million for Minamino. Giving the club close to what they originally paid for the two players.

Sadly, Shaqiri's time at Liverpool does appear to be coming to an end sooner rather than later, with his minutes decreasing season on season since his arrival from Stoke back in 2018.

Especially, when given Liverpool's goal-scoring troubles this season, the Swiss winger has only featured 12 times (starting just five) in the Premier League. These limited appearances (some due to injury) shows just where he fits into Jurgen Klopp's plans.

However, the sale of Takumi Minamino does have a lot more questions. It is hard to see Jurgen Klopp giving up on Minamino after such a crazy first year at Anfield.

The Japanese attacker moved to Anfield just before the COVID-19 outbreak, meaning his Liverpool career was halted before it could get going. That appears to have led to the decision to let Minamino join Southampton until the end of the season.

As we all know due to the financial restrictions that COVID-19 has forced upon clubs, Liverpool may have to sell before they buy. However, the club needs to be careful about who they let go of.
