Liverpool could sell Wataru Endo after just one season at the club as the Reds prepare to welcome Feyenoord coach Arne Slot to the club.

The Dutch coach is replacing Jurgen Klopp and things could change quite quickly at Anfield.

A surprising report has emerged with Graeme Bailey now claiming that Endo could be sold as part of Slot's squad overhaul.

The Japanese midfielder is a brand new Liverpool player after only joining the club at the start of the season so it would surprise many fans to see him leave so soon.

It wouldn't surprise Graeme Bailey, however.

Speaking exclusively to Rousing the Kop, Bailey said that with the changes expected to come thick and fast this summer, Endo could fall victim to the turbulence.

“Obviously Thiago is going, we know that,” said the journalist when asked about potential outgoings. “I think if Endo moves back to Germany at some point it wouldn’t be a major shock.

“He’s come in, done a job, I think he’s done a fine job but you can see him going back to the Bundesliga for sure. He’s not on huge money and they didn’t pay an awful lot for him.”

I just don't see why selling Endo makes any sense

I can't see how selling Endo makes sense.

With all the turbulence surrounding Liverpool right now, it would make far more sense to keep Endo.

Even if the plan is to start the season with a new defensive midfielder in Endo's starting role.

It's a long season and Liverpool are seeing now how important it is to have as deep a squad as you can.

Keeping Endo on his low wages would allow Liverpool to sign a more talented no.6 while ensuring Endo is there for rotation and the cup tournaments.
