Report from Spain: Liverpool have made contract "offers" to sign unbelievable player

Another update has emerged on Liverpool's long-term interest in Kylian Mbappe which, if true, could signal an exciting new era is on its way at Anfield.

The Frenchman will not be moving to Real Madrid at the end of the season despite their attempts to sign him in the future.

This has opened the door to other clubs, like Liverpool, to try their hand.

Surprisingly, the Anfield outfit appears to be the best placed to secure his signature when he leaves PSG.

Liverpool have "present offers" to bring Kylian Mbappe to Anfield in 2024

According to Spanish news outlet SPORT, Liverpool are the "best positioned" to sign Kylian Mbappe when he leaves Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract.

The 24-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and after Real Madrid pulled out of the race, Liverpool reportedly remain as the side with the highest chance of signing him.

On Friday, we reported on recent claims linking him with a move to Merseyside in January worth €100 million (£87.4m).

SPORT, however, suggest a move to sign Mbappe depends on Mohamed Salah leaving the club with the funds from a potential sale to the Saudi Pro League needed to afford the extortionate finances involved with signing the Frenchman.

Various reports dispute the true value of his mouth-watering PSG contract, with Capology reporting he earns around £1.2 million per week.

Liverpool would be able to sign Mbappe for free in the summer but it would be uncharacteristic of FSG to give a contract of that size their blessing.

Mbappe would usher in exciting new era post-Salah

This week, the ever-reliable David Ornstein provided a promising update on Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool.

He shared that he's heard it's not guaranteed the Egyptian will trade the Premier League for the Saudi Pro League ahead of his June 2025 contract expiry.

Yet, there is a future Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool need to prepare for where Salah is no longer at the club.

If Mbappe were to succeed Salah as the Kop's new talisman, it's safe to say he would be the face of Liverpool 2.0.

Jurgen Klopp is rebuilding the side that won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup. The German wanted to sign him in 2017 but has laughed off suggestions he could sign him in the summer.

“We laugh about it. I can say that I think he’s a really good player, but the financial conditions don’t suit us at all,” Klopp told Sky Germany.

“I wouldn’t like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there’s nothing to it.”
