“Liverpool-wise": James Pearce provides transfer low-down for January

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly happy with his current squad and will not likely make any signings during the January transfer window.

The German is as good as a manager can be with regards to drawing every bit of performance possible from a group of players at his disposal.

Time and again, Klopp has shocked the world by overachieving in the face of adversity.

This season, his side tops the Premier League table after the midway point, is into the semi-final of Carabao Cup and through to the next stage of both the FA Cup and Europa League.

The 56-year-old has achieved this despite shocking refereeing, a bucket load of injuries and a lack of a specialist defensive midfielder.

James Pearce now reports that the German is happy with his squad and doesn't anticipate any January signings to alleviate the pressure injuries are placing Liverpool under.

James Pearce says Klopp is "happy" with the squad "he's got"

James Pearce, who reports for the Athletic, says Klopp is unlikely to make any signings this month with the German apparently happy with the players he has.

Speaking on the Walk On podcast, the journalist said “Liverpool-wise, it’s very quiet. All the noises coming at the club are that Klopp is happy with what he’s got.

“Of course they need to bolster at centre-half because of what they’ve got, but there’s no sense of urgency because of the development of Quansah to such a level where he’s fully trusted and an established member of the first-team squad.”

It could be decision Liverpool come to regret. That's not to say they haven't done an amazing job so far this season but there hasn't been any let-off on the injury front.

Hopefully there won't be any regrets and injured players can return to replenish the squad but given the golden opportunity to win silverware this season, it would be nice to see a little more ambition shown.
