Liverpool may never get opportunity to sign Jude Bellingham again

Liverpool may never again get the opportunity to sign Jude Bellingham with the 20-year-old falling in love with Real Madrid.

There was unanimous agreement even before his move to the Santiago Bernabeu that Bellingham would be tremendously successful if he joined Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Nobody saw this coming...

He's a midfielder (right?) but he's recording numbers that some of Europe's best forwards aren't managing this season.

In ten games in all competitions, Bellingham has scored 10 goals, assisting three, according to data from Transfermarkt.

For comparison, PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe has eight goals in nine games, Mohamed Salah has six goals and four assists in ten matches while Erling Haaland has eight goals and two assists in twelve appearances.

Bellingham has blown Europe away this season but Liverpool will have to watch from afar with it now looking unlikely that the midfielder will ever leave Real Madrid.

Jude Bellingham wants long Real Madrid career

Bellingham is in red hot form and seems set to continue his incredible scoring streak with his advanced midfield role.

Speaking to former Chelsea winger Joe Cole on Channel 4, via Goal, about life after moving to Madrid, opened up about how much freedom he is being given to express himself.

Bellingham said: "I am loving football at the minute. My management at club and country are giving me freedom to play it how I see it.

"Since the last few months I have been really working on my timing getting into the box and as I am arriving I am arriving with a big hunger.

"With the big transfer the fact is I have to deliver, whether it is a goal or assist or a match-winning performance."

In a crushing blow to Liverpool and any other Premier League clubs praying he would one day return to England, the midfielder claims he wants to stay at the club for over a decade.

Bellingham told Channel 4: "This is the club I want to be at for the next 10 to 15 years of my life. I am loving it there. Carlo [Ancelotti] basically said this position is where he sees me."

The former Birmingham midfielder earns £350,000 per week in the Spanish capital, according to Cadena Ser, and with the opportunity to compete at the highest level every season, it's easy to see why he'd be happy to stay in Madrid forever.

Liverpool really missed their opportunity to sign Bellingham

Liverpool pulled out of signing Bellingham due to the overall cost involved, instead focussing their finances on recruiting several midfielders instead.

It was a wise decision but frustrating for fans to miss out on a talent many consider to be generational. Madrid paid €103 million (£88m) to sign the 20-year-old from Borussia Dortmund but he's already making the fee look like a joke.

There's no doubt that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez believes he got a bargain.

Dominik Szoboszlai makes it all worth it

Missing out on Jude Bellingham hurt and probably always will because he's only going to improve.

Bringing Dominik Szoboszlai to Liverpool makes it all worth it, however, as the Hungarian has shades of Steven Gerrard to him.

His thunderstruck shot against Leicester City won Goal of the Month for September, beating his other nominated goal against Aston Villa.

Liverpool are depending on the 22-year-old to stay fit and in-form to guide them through the early stages of the Premier League season.

Consistent performances at this point of the season, approaching the festive fixture list in December, will be heavily rewarded later when the title race comes to a head.
