Jurgen Klopp key to Liverpool free transfer as Kylian Mbappe ignores Real Madrid's 15 Jan 'deadline'

Jurgen Klopp will be the key to signing Kylian Mbappe as a free transfer after the Frenchman and his entourage stood strong by ignoring Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and the race is on to secure arguably the most impactful transfer of 2024.

H2 - Kylian Mbappe ignores Real Madrid transfer deadline

According a report from TEAM Talk, Kylian Mbappe was set a deadline of 15 January to make a decision on a move to Real Madrid but has ignored it.

Liverpool will be pleased to hear that Mbappe has ignored it.

It comes after his entourage issued a statement declaring that he will not be pressured into making a decision until he is ready.

The statement, issued exclusively to RMC Sport, reads: “There is no agreement around Kylian’s future, especially since there are no discussions started about it.

"No type of influence could also dictate the timing of Kylian’s discussion, reflection or decision.” Like two years ago, Kylian Mbappé remains the “master of the clocks.”

Jurgen Klopp is the only person that can convince Mbappe that Liverpool has to be his next career move.

The German is an extremely charismatic and influential figure in the world of football and Liverpool are truly lucky to have him.

If there is anyone that can sell the dream of moving to Anfield to a player as talented as the Frenchman is, it's Jurgen Klopp.

That said, it remains unlikely to happen. Not just because of the mind-boggling finances involved but because Liverpool just don't do superstar signings.

The last time I can remember Liverpool signing a player that was already considered to to be one of the very best was Thiago Alcantara.

Even then, the Spaniard was in the twilight of his career so it's not the same.

But like I said, if this does happen, it will be because of Jurgen Norbert Klopp.
