Jorg Schmadtke could agree four more Liverpool transfers this month - depends on Klopp decisions

Liverpool have been very active in the loan transfer market this summer, recalling several of their promising young stars from unproductive spells only to arrange new opportunities for the rest of the season.

Fabio Carvalho, Billy Koumetio, Calvin Ramsay, Rhys Williams and James Balagazi have all been recalled. So too has Nathaniel Phillips, although at 26-year-old can hardly be considered a young starlet.

All the same, Liverpool are ensuring they are not wasting precious months and years of their players' careers and will now look to arrange more loan spells for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool could complete another four loan transfers this month

A report from the Daily Express covers the next four loan transfers Liverpool sporting director Jorg Schmadkte could complete this month with Calvin Ramsay, Billy Koumetio, James Balagazi and Nathaniel Phillips in need of playing time.

So where could they go?

Let's take a look at this latest reports linking the Liverpool quartet with loan moves during the January transfer window.

Calvin Ramsay

20-year-old Calvin Ramsay has struggled since moving to Merseyside and has had very few opportunities in the first team as he apparently has yet to make the grade.

That's why he has been sent out on loan and will likely head out again as Conor Bradley covers for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.

After his loan with Preston North End was cut short, it has now emerged, via Football Scotland, that he could head to Leeds United until the end of the season.

Billy Koumetio

The French centre-back was on loan at Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque but was left out of training before heading back to Merseyside.

Nothing concrete has yet been reported on where Koumetio could head next. If he doesn't depart again, he will join the U23s to get game time.

James Balagazi

Balagazi had his Wigan loan cut short and, just like Koumetio, doesn't seem likely to head out again.

This could be so Liverpool can more closely assess his potential and offer guidance on how he can progress through the ranks to reach the first team.

Nathaniel Phillips

Phillips' situation is an interesting one. Many expected him to leave the club permanently before now but amid defensive injuries, Liverpool could look to keep him as an emergency option.

The 26-year-old could also be rotated in for FA Cup games to give the starters a rest with Liverpool still competing in the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup and the Europa League.
