Contact already made: Liverpool can finally sign €182,000/week future superstar

Liverpool made contact with Barcelona in the summer but can now finally sign Ansu Fati, according to reports.

Spanish news outlet SPORT reported on 30 August 2023 that Liverpool reached out to Barcelona in order to be kept in the loop regarding Fati's transfer plans.

He then joined Brighton loan on 1 September, with the Seagulls paying the majority of his €182,000/week wages.

Football Transfers now reports that Liverpool are "among a host of Premier League clubs" that want to sign Fati.

However, the hopeful English clubs may lose out with Fati reportedly keen to return to Camp Nou to "prove himself at Barcelona."

So far, Fati has done alright in the Premier League with four goals and an assist in 12 games in all competitions.

The report discusses whether or not the Spaniard could be the player to replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool but that's out of the question.

Salah has become a titan of the game at Anfield and if Jurgen Klopp has hopes of keeping the ship steady when he leaves, a player of similar quality needs to be brought in.

Fati is an exciting player but he still needs more time before he can claim to be destined for the same heights as Salah has achieved.

After suffering a ruptured inner meniscus in his left knee, the 21-year-old missed 305 days of football.

He's impressing in the Premier League right now but still needs some more time to develop before he moves club.
