Signing Brazilian Now Liverpool Priority As Timeline On Next Bid Revealed

Liverpool have made signing Andre their priority for the January transfer window as a timeline for their next bid is revealed.

The Brazilian midfielder currently plays for Fluminense and could be a potential new addition to the Reds' impressive lineup as they continue to bolster their midfield strength.

Football Insider reports that Liverpool are seriously interested in signing Andre.

It is expected that the club will make a formal bid in the upcoming winter transfer window.

However, with Fluminense's season ending in December, Liverpool want to finalize a deal in January.

Fifth midfield signing key for Liverpool transition

While Liverpool are in the Premier League title race, it's important to note that this remains a period of transition for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The Reds have already strengthened in midfield, recruiting four midfielders.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have already started the vast majority of games this season while Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch have been used sparingly.

If Andre is to join the club, he would be the fifth midfield signing since the end of last season. Of course, Klopp did part ways with six midfielders in the summer with Fabinho's exit particularly impactful.

Not having a specialised defensive midfielder is an issue for Liverpool as it leaves them exposed when they lose the ball.

Liverpool made a number of bids in the summer but ultimately realised that Fluminense would not allow Andre to leave.

Their final bid was worth €30 million so after his impressive displays this season, it stands to reason he will cost more in January.

With the Merseyside outfit expected to return with a more lucrative offer to entice Fluminense, the 22-year-old may soon be a Red.

Impact on Premier League title bid

The potential signing of Andre could significantly enhance Liverpool's credentials for the Premier League title. Not having a natural ball winner in midfield makes it difficult for Klopp to execute his counter pressing tactics to their potential.

Currently three points behind league leaders, Spurs, Liverpool have certainly made the most of a difficult start to the season. Klopp has already ticked off tricky trips to Stamford Bridge, St. James' Park, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Amex.

Having got several challenging fixtures out of the way, signing Andre would boost their chances of winning the title. If the Reds can reach the January transfer window in a promising league position, they can once again put the winter window to good use.
