Liverpool Star Was Paying Diogo Jota Rent Before He Moved To Anfield

Diogo Jota has shared an amusing revelation about his connection with teammate Luis Diaz. Prior to Diaz's transfer to Anfield, Jota was actually renting his house to the Colombian winger.

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Jota playfully recounted the situation, highlighting his role as Diaz's former landlord and the subsequent cancellation of their rental agreement.

"“He rented the house I’d lived in when I played for Porto," Jota started. "“He was paying me rent, then he ended up playing with me, and I often still bring that up during our conversations."

Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022, originally signing a rental contract with Jota that was intended to last until July. However, when the opportunity arose for them to become teammates at Liverpool, Jota made a generous decision.

"He arrived in January and had a contract with me until July, but because he was going to be my team-mate, I let him out of the contract," Jota explained.

This unexpected turn of events further strengthens the camaraderie and bond within the Liverpool squad.

As Diaz prepares for the start of the new season, he can reflect on this amusing tale, appreciating the unexpected twist of fate that led him to not only become Jota's tenant but also his fellow Liverpool player.

Jota and Diaz are both vital players in Jurgen Klopp's extremely talented squad and will be delighted to have playmakers like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai supporting their attacking runs next season.
