Liverpool will be very interested in the departures this summer.
The club has plans of revamping the squad ahead of next season. Most fans will be expecting new additions, but the departures will also be key. Liverpool already have enough on their hands with the current contract situations. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are all set to leave on free transfers in a few months. But it is expected that they will not be the only players on their way out of Anfield.
Arne Slot has had the chance to run the rule over the squad this season, and he is expected to have a big say in the exits. Reports have claimed that the Dutch boss is not happy with the options in attack outside of Mohamed Salah. Liverpool’s second highest top scorer in the league is Luis Diaz with nine goals.

Wantaway Liverpool star has decided on his exit

This summer will be a crucial one for the reds. Liverpool will have to make a decision on players whose contracts are expiring in 2026. Ibrahima Konate, Andrew Robertson and Caomhin Kelleher all have one year remaining on their deals. The reds are expected to offer Robertson a short-term extension, and Kelleher is on the shortlist of multiple Premier League clubs. Konate is also being pursued by European clubs with less than a year left on his contract.
Liverpool are expected to have around £250million available for transfers when the window opens. The reds could add more funds from the sale of players. One first team star linked with a move away from Anfield is Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan has been out of favour under Arne Slot this season. According to Fichajes, Nunez has identified Atletico Madrid as his next destination. The La Liga side are looking to add fresh faces to their attack this summer, and Diego Simeone is interested in signing the 25-year old. Atletico will be willing to pay around €65million for Darwin Nunez.
The reds are also in the market for a marquee striker, with Alexander Isak having been linked over the past month.
Nunez saga comes to an end
Darwin Nunez could be finally on his way out of the club. Since he arrived at Anfield, he has shown flashes but has ultimately failed to impress. Liverpool will benefit from recouping the huge outlay spent on his initial transfer. The reds desperately need to sort out their attack ahead of next season.
