Liverpool had a week to forget as they lost the League Cup final and were knocked out of the Champions League. Trent got injured against Paris Saint-Germain and missed the League Cup final through injury.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a five-year deal with Real Madrid. The report claims the player and his agent have put pen to paper on a lucrative contract that comes into effect this July. Madrid have been pursuing the 26-year old since last year, and attempted to sign him in January. Liverpool rejected a big as they hoped to keep him at Anfield this summer.
Liverpool never really stood a chance
Trent Alexander-Arnold had his mind set on a Real Madrid move for a few months now. Liverpool losing out on the League Cup and the Champions League might have been the final nail in the coffin. Regardless on how he leaves Anfield, he remains a huge part of the club’s history and culture. The reds now need to find a replacement for one of England’s best players.
