Trent Alexander-Arnold makes Liverpool stance clear

Just a few months to the end of the campaign and Liverpool are yet to resolve the futures of their first team stars. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all out of contract when the season ends. The trio have all played a huge role in the club’s success this season. While Salah and Van Dijk have hinted they could stay at Anfield, Trent has been strongly linked with a move away.
However, the latest report from the Liverpool Echo, the club are increasingly confident of keeping Trent at Anfield. The report claims that the reds are pushing to keep the defender for the “remainder of his 20s”. No details of the deal have been revealed but sources around the club are positive of keeping the England international.
Trent recently spoke about how Arne Slot has improved his game at Liverpool: “He helps me and teaches me a lot,” he said to FeyenoordPings.
“He is strict with me, I like that. He helps me with the weak points in my game and he wants me to improve. He tells me where to stand to get the ball. You don’t get the ball there because someone will mark you, so why would you stand there?” Alexander-Arnold added.
“And if you are marked and other people come in and Ryan Gravenberch is marked, there is space behind him, and you look for depth.
“It’s very in-depth. Very detailed. He always studies the opponent thoroughly and tells us where their weak spots are. Then we have to punish them on the field.”
Liverpool face Southampton in the Premier League this weekend.

After months of links and a possible move to Real Madrid, this may be the best news for Liverpool fans yet. Fans should be excited that one of their best ever players wants to remain at his boyhood club. It is now down to the club to provide all the resources to keep him at Anfield.
