Liverpool could lose Trent Alexander-Arnold for free this summer.
The defender is part of a trio of Liverpool players whose contracts expire at the end of the season. Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk could also leave the club in the coming months. All three have been pivotal to the club’s success this campaign. Salah has 25 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League, and Virgil Van Dijk is having a great season. Trent Alexander-Arnold seems to have bounced back from an underwhelming campaign last year.
After their big win against Manchester City, the reds have opened an 11-point lead at the top of the table. Liverpool could win their first trophy this season against Newcastle in the League Cup final.

Trent has been linked with a move to Real Madrid since January. The Spanish giants put in a bid at the start of the window, and Liverpool rejected it. Since the year began there have been multiple reports that the defender has agreed a deal to join the Champions League holders. Trent has reportedly decided to wait to make a decision at the end of the season.
Now Cadena SER in Spain have reported that Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid is a ‘done deal’. The report claims that the club’s officials are convinced the defender is already a Madrid player. Trent will sign a four-year deal with the La Liga side. His wages are reportedly said to be around £14million to £15million a year. The 26-year old currently earns around £9million a year at Anfield. Fichajes also report that Madrid are ready to offer a £15million signing bonus, which means Trent could pocket up to £30million in his first year in Spain.
Liverpool are yet to provide any details on current contract negotiations.
Deal already done
It seems like the deal has been completed for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Despite all the efforts from Liverpool to keep the defender, he will leave this summer. Trent has been a great servant to the club all this time there. He has contributed to the most successful period in recent years under Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup among other trophies.
Trent could end his time at Anfield with a treble. Winning the Premier League, Champions League and League Cup could be the perfect send off for some of the clubs greatest servants. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk should leave Anfield on a high.
