Liverpool are eyeing a big summer transfer ahead of next season.
Under Arne Slot this year, the club have learnt the strengths and weaknesses of the current crop of players. The former Feyenoord coach has done a great job with the squad. His new possession-based style has been a stark contrast from Jurgen Klopp’s transition football. However, this new system has brought the best out of some players who struggled last season.
Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo have experienced exponentially better campaigns than they did last year. Trent Alexander-Arnold has also benefitted from this new style. Last season the defender was sort of limited playing an inverted role.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Liverpool eye Brighton star

The reds have planned an overhaul of the squad ahead of next season. It is believed that Arne Slot will have a big say in any signings. Ahead of the upcoming window, reports indicate that some players have been made available for sale. Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are the players currently listed.
Nunez has been an interesting case this season. The Uruguayan has been out of favour under Arne Slot. His recent performance against Aston Villa only raised more concerns about his future. Nunez missed a big chance, and was responsible for poor decision making in dangerous situations. Liverpool eventually drew the game 2-2.
It was reported that a £70m bid from Saudi Arabia was rejected for Darwin Nunez. Liverpool wanted to keep him till the end of the season. Now, the reds have lined up his replacement. According to Team Talk, Brighton forward Joao Pedro is a possible transfer target. The Brazilian has seven goals and six assists in the league this season.
Liverpool will invest the funds from any sales of Nunez, Jota or Diaz this summer. Italian clubs are heavily interested in signing the Uruguayan at the end of the season.
Reds need a new striker
This season has made it clear that Liverpool need a starter up top. Darwin Nunez has failed to recapture the spark, and looks on his way out of Anfield. Slot decided to play Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz in the role, but none have been consistently successful infront of goal. As a result, Mohamed Salah has been a one-man attack this season.
If Liverpool want to challenge for silverware next year, they need a solid goalscoring option.
