"Who he likes and who he doesn’t": £34M Liverpool star could be sold if Slot doesn't rate him

Ryan Gravenberch could follow the same fate as Wataru Endo when Arne Slot arrives at the club this summer with claims suggesting he could be on the chopping block.

Recent reports from Turkey, most notably Fotomac, have claimed that the former Bayern Munich star is a "primary" target for Galatasaray.

Now, Graeme Bailey has told Rousing the Kop that Slot could consider selling Gravenberch if he doesn't see him as a key part of his squad.

He only joined Liverpool at the start of the season after the Reds paid Bayern €40 million (£34.2M) to secure his signature.

Gravenberch could be a victim of Klopp's departure

There's nothing concrete yet but Gravenberch's unimpressive first season at Liverpool may mean he could leave this summer.

“In terms of Gravenberch, it’s not one I’ve heard but there will be some players in this squad who the new coach coming in doesn’t fancy, that’s just footballing life,” he says.

“There’ll be some players who aren’t in the team that we don’t foresee.

"He [Arne Slot] won’t demand people are sold but it will soon become apparent who he likes and who he doesn’t.”

Liverpool need to persist with Gravenberch

While selling Wataru Endo would be a poor decision in my view, selling Gravenberch would just be idiotic.

The midfielder is still just 21 and has shown (albeit only in bursts) that he could be a truly special player if given the time and trust to develop.

It would be extremely disappointing to see Gravenberch sold only to flourish elsewhere.

It might not mean much but sharing a mother tongue with Slot could be extremely helpful even if Gravenberch speak very good English.

Hopefully Liverpool decide to keep him this summer especially as it gives him a chance to win Slot over whereas he hasn't broken into Klopp's side yet.
