Spanish report suggests Real Madrid may allow Jude Bellingham to join Liverpool

Real Madrid want to plan for Toni Kroos' eventual departure with a move to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United and reportedly see the Brazilian as an alternative to Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool are working behind the scenes to bring Bellingham to Anfield for the 2023/24 season but face huge competition.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester City want the teenager but Liverpool appear to be the strongest-placed side to sign him.

The Reds are battling in the Premier League this season but their recent form makes finishing in the top four realistic again.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid have "earmarked" Guimaraes as a target for the summer and view him as an alternative to Bellingham.

He's regarded by Los Blancos as a worthy replacement for Casemiro but could also take the place of Toni Kroos when he too leaves the club.

This will come as good news to Jurgen Klopp. The German desperately needs to add Bellingham to his squad after this season fully exposed Liverpool's ageing and declining midfield.

A previous report from Marca claimed that Liverpool have a financial edge over Real Madrid and that the La Liga champions can't compete with the power of English clubs.

In order to sign Bellingham, FSG will need to agree a Premier League transfer record with Borussia Dortmund. While he's only 19, there is no doubt that he will be a huge success at Anfield.

Guimaraes would be a fantastic player for Klopp to sign as well although there is little chance of that happening.

With Liverpool's team crumbling, Klopp needs to show his ruthless side once more to ensure next season takes a drastically different course than this one has.
