LFC value starter at £47m but could trade him for 19-goal La Liga sensation

A report from Spanish outlet El Gol Digital suggests that Liverpool could sell Roberto Firmino for €55million (£47m) and Anfield Central's Chief Writer Michael Mongie believes it could pave the way for Luis Suarez's return to Merseyside.

I'll be the first one to recognise the contribution Roberto Firmino has made to Liverpool's most successful team in decades.

While his low attacking contributions are used as a stick to beat him with, it's no longer appreciated just how much he does for the Reds, with his tireless efforts crucial to the goalscoring feats that Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have achieved.

Having said all that, he's past his best and Liverpool could cash in this summer and bring Luis Suarez back to Anfield.

El Gol Digital report that Liverpool want £47million for Firmino and given how he has dipped below his sensational best, it would be wise to sell him while he is still a wanted man across Europe.

Meanwhile, Fichajes.net claimed that Liverpool are preparing a £13.5million offer for Suarez.

Atleti should counter their offer, include Suarez as makeweight and offer the Reds £33.5m extra for Firmino.

The La Liga side would get a younger forward that suits Diego Simeone's defensive outfit, Liverpool would get a forward that knows the club, that is absolutely deadly in front of goal and £33.5m extra to spend during the transfer window.

Even if Simeone wants to hold onto Suarez, with reports suggesting Pep Guardiola could move for Joao Felix, Firmino could still head to the Wanda Metropolitano this summer in which case, selling him for the €55million (£47m) that El Gol Digital claim he is valued at would be a wise move from Liverpool.

The Premier League season still has nine games remaining and yet the transfer rumours are well underway ahead of the summer window and after a disappointing season, there is no doubt Liverpool will be heavily involved one way or another.
