Chelsea in “intensive talks” to complete £103M signing after claim Liverpool agreed personal terms

Chelsea are reportedly holding "intensive" negotiations to sign Victor Osimhen, however, it's unlikely Liverpool will get involved despite claims in 2023 that the Reds had agreed on a contract with the Serie A hitman.

In October, reports from Italy suggested that Liverpool reached an agreement to with Osimhen over a move to Anfield but this is not accurate.

According to Italian journalist Valter De Maggio, via Sport Witness, the Reds agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old and were moving onto negotiations with Napoli over a transfer fee.

Personal terms have not been agreed with the Nigerian striker and it's unlikely Liverpool will be able to afford the €120 million (£103M) fee Napoli are demanding for his services. The Blues have reportedly already agreed to pay this fee.

Now, Caught Offside reports that Chelsea are in "intensive transfer talks" to take Osimhen to Stamford Bridge despite pressure to conform to the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

While it would be wonderful to see player like Osimhen move to Anfield, Jurgen Klopp has other transfer priorities. The German still needs a new defensive midfielder while the 2023/24 season has brought with it a wealth of injuries in defence.

Despite gaps in squad depth, Liverpool are firing on all fronts and could win multiple trophies this season if Klopp can maintain performance levels.
