Liverpool target Alan Varela from Porto is a hot commodity in the transfer market, with multiple clubs showing interest in securing his services.

The competition for Varela is heating up.

Varela, a standout midfielder at Porto, has emerged as another name on the radar of Liverpool, PSG and Bayern Munich.

Liverpool, embarking on a new era without Jürgen Klopp at the helm, are reportedly interested in the Argentine midfielder.

The Reds' management is aiming to build a team that aligns with their incoming manager's vision, and Varela could be a crucial piece in that puzzle.

Adding to the intrigue, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reveals that Varela has been offered to Bayern Munich, who are tracking his progress.

The German giants have listed him as one of several players they are considering to strengthen their midfield, but he is not their top target as of now.

Liverpool's reported contract offer to Varela and willingness to trigger £60M release clause

Porto have set a high price for the 22-year-old midfielder, with the club expecting any interested parties to meet the €70 million (£60M) release clause.

Varela's contract with Porto runs until 2028, ensuring the Portuguese club has the upper hand in negotiations.

Despite this, Liverpool have shown a serious interest in securing his services.

According to Mundo Boca Radio reporter Luis Fregossi, the Merseyside club has made contact with Varela's agents and is willing to meet his release clause in full.

As mentioned by Liverpool fan account Anfield Edition - as an untested source for any kind of LFC news, Fregossi's claims should be taken with a grain of salt. He does have Boca ties but that's about it.

The report also suggests that Liverpool have extended a contract offer to Varela, outlining what he would earn if he joined the club.

An additional factor to consider is the potential windfall for Boca Juniors, Varela's former club, which could receive 20% of the transfer fee due to a sell-on clause in his contract with Porto. This means that if the release clause is activated, Boca Juniors could stand to receive around €14 million (£12M) from the deal.

With interest from multiple high-profile clubs, including PSG, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich, Varela's future remains uncertain.

The midfielder's next move will likely depend on the offers on the table and his desire to compete in top European competitions.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the race for Alan Varela's signature is bound to intensify, and it will be intriguing to see which club ultimately secures his services.
