£13M Bayern Munich bid submitted for Assan Ouédraogo - If Reds don’t react, they’ll miss out

Liverpool will miss out on the opportunity to sign 17-year-old midfielder Assan Ouédraogo if they don’t respond to Bayern Munich’s £13 million bid by submitting one of their own.

A report this week states the Schalke is on a list of six players that are being targeted by the Reds this year but Bayern may now be set to beat them to the punch.

He has been receiving glowing reviews and in mid-November 2023, Liverpool were said to be prepared to make an offer worth €20 million (£17.4m). They were described by Calciomercato as being the "real threat" to Inter Milan's hopes of recruiting Ouédraogo.

However, it seems they could both lose out to Bayern.

Bayern Munich submit official bid worth £13M to sign 17-year-old Assan Ouedraogo

Bayern Munich have submitted an "official offer" to Ouédraogo's camp with sporting director Christopher Freund working hard to secure a deal to sign the 17-year-old in the summer, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

A five-year contract has been offered and the Bundesliga club is ready to pay around €15 million (£12.9M)to activate his release clause.

Bayern are "waiting now" for Ouédraogo as the player "wants to take some more time with a decision".

This should give Liverpool enough time to decide how serious the are in securing his talent. If they don't consider him to be crucial, they will pass on him as they did with Romeo Lavia in the summer.

In that case they made bids but refused to meet Southampton's £50M minimum asking price tag before ultimately deciding to end their pursuit.
