Top Liverpool target to enter talks with agent this week

Liverpool are one step closer to one big signing this summer.

The reds have already started plans on retooling the first team squad. Liverpool’s season has taken quite the turn over the past week. The reds were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain last week. Liverpool then suffered a shock defeat at Wembley, losing out to Newcastle in the League Cup final. Arne Slot’s chances of ending the season with three trophies ended on a sad note.

Over the last week it has become clear that Liverpool’s lack of depth cost them. Against Paris Saint-Germain, the reds could only bring on Wataru Endo and Darwin Nunez, while the French side brought on big money signings Desire Doue and Goncalo Ramos.

Liverpool are set to lose most of their starting backline ahead of next season. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk could leave the club this summer. The duo are out of contract at the end of the season. Ibrahima Konate has also been drawing attention in recent weeks. The defender has yet to make a decision on his future at Anfield, with his contract expiring in 2026.

The reds could also lose other players this summer. Caomhin Kelleher has been linked with a move away this summer. Liverpool’s back up keeper has attracted a lot of attention from Premier League clubs. Atletico Madrid have also set their sights on Darwin Nunez. The striker is set to leave the club in the summer, Arne Slot is reportedly not a big fan of the Uruguayan.

According to TEAMtalk, Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez will hold talks with his agent over his future. It has been reported that the Hungarian international will leave the club this summer. Liverpool are said to be the leading race to sign the 21-year old. Kerkez’s agent already mentioned earlier this year that his client would make a big move this summer:

“I think he’s ready to go to a higher level club [than Bournemouth],”

“If he wants to go to Liverpool, he will go to Liverpool.

“I mean he has everything. I think he can’t be in the top five left-backs around the world if he plays at a smaller club.

“So it depends on his next transfer. How many minutes will he play there and how well will he play there?”

Bournemouth will be looking for around £50million for the defender.
