Liverpool left Saturday’s game away to Bournemouth with some major concerns.
The Reds managed to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League. Liverpool are now nine points clear, with Arsenal set to face Manchester City on Sunday. Arne Slot’s men also have the advantage of a game in hand.
Two goals from Mohamed Salah were enough to seal all three points away to Bournemouth. The Reds are one of the only top sides in the league to win at the Vitality Stadium. Manchester City and Arsenal both dropped points there.
Liverpool can now turn their attention to Spurs in the second leg of the League Cup. The reds trail by one goal.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Liverpool could change plans after injury

During the win against Bournemouth, Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up and injury and was not able to finish the game. The defender was subbed off after just 70 minutes and looked in a lot of discomfort. After the game, Arne Slot gave an update on the injury:
“The situation was that he said to me, ‘You have to take me off’ and he sat on the floor and we took him off.
“He felt something, I can’t tell you exactly what and how bad it is of course because we are one hour after the game, but it is never a good sign if a player is asking for a substitution.
“This is not a fact but I would be surprised if he plays on Thursday, but let’s hope he is back with us as soon as possible.”
The injury could potentially be a serious one as Trent had to ask to be taken off immediately. This comes at a crucial time in the season, where the Reds have a crucial stretch of games over the next month.
Reds could need reinforcements
Liverpool have made it clear that they will not be active in the transfer market this month. But with the news of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury, the club could figure something out.
Slavia Prague wingback Malick Diouf could be a plausible option, with his price tag confirmed to be €18million by the Czech club’s chairman. The Senegalese defender is young, and has experience playing in the Europa Leauge, so the transition to English football could easily be facilitated. Liverpool could also choose to continue with Conor Bradley and hope Trent recovers in time.
