Napoli are pushing towards signing Darwin Nunez this summer, and the striker wants to join the Serie A champions this summer.

The Italian champions have already tabled a bid and are prepared to negotiate further to work out a deal with Liverpool for the Uruguayan international.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Napoli will hold more talks with the Merseyside giants and the striker’s representatives next week to finalise a deal.

Liverpool are ready to sell the striker if anyone offers them a deal worth £42m, three years after they paid £72m for him to sign from Benfica.

Napoli have gone up to £36m, and there is hope that the Serie A giants will eventually find a way to meet Liverpool’s asking price.

The Serie A giants are also trying to finalise an agreement over a contract with the forward’s representatives.
