The Mo Salah contract saga has occupied minds on Merseyside in the last 24 hours following the player’s outspoken tirade on the state of the talks. Liverpool are yet to offer him a new deal and the star man has been left frustrated by the club’s passive approach in the negotiations.
Salah displayed on Sunday evening why Liverpool still need him when he scored two goals to turn a defeat into a win for the Reds against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.
But what he said after the game shocked the football world. He revealed that he has yet to be offered a new deal by Liverpool despite months-long negotiations between the club and the player.
Liverpool insist that since they are nowhere close to reaching an agreement over a new deal they have not offered a formal contract to Salah but there is certainly a wedge between the two sides at the moment.
Salah’s public outburst has put more pressure on the Liverpool hierarchy and his decision to bring the closed-door negotiations into the public forum seems to be working.

Liverpool fans are not happy that the club are dragging their feet in the negotiations and Salah has their support given his contributions to the club.
The Reds hierarchy are under pressure to sort out a new deal for the player and it seems the forward’s tactic is set to work.
According to indykaila News, FSG supremo John Henry is set to personally intervene in the negotiations to ensure Salah stays at Anfield.

It has been claimed that Henry will hold a meeting with the 32-year-old forward in the next 24 hours to calm down the crisis situation.
The Liverpool owner will hope to find common ground with Salah and his representatives and get closer to finalising an agreement over a new deal.
The key aspect is that Salah’s preference is to stay at Anfield and he is only annoyed that Liverpool are taking this amount of time to offer him a new contract.
