Liverpool have a number of first team players with contracts expiring this summer.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are all set to depart Anfield at the end of the season. This has opened the door for multiple clubs to attempt to sign them on pre-contracts. As of February, none of the players have officially signed new contracts. But it is expected that they might leave at the end of the campaign.
Liverpool reportedly want to see how the season ends before they make any decisions on contract renewals. The club will factor this in any transfer decisions they make. Arne Slot and Richard Hughes have a huge job to do in recruitment in the upcoming months. Liverpool have drawn up a list of targets they could pursue in the next window.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
Real Madrid eye another Liverpool target

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. The Champions League holders attempted a bid to sign the defender in January, but Liverpool rejected the offer. It has been mentioned that Trent will wait till the end of the season to make a decision on his future. But as it stands, he is likely to move to Spain in the coming months.
Real Madrid could make it a double swoop as they have set their sights on Ibrahima Konate. According to the Daily Mail, the La Liga side are interested in the French international. With his contract set to expire within the next year, he is a prime target on the market. Liverpool will insist the 25-year old is not for sale, but the longer they wait, they may end up losing him for free.
Konate revealed earlier this season that he has a contract offer from the reds on the table. But he never made any commitments that he would sign the deal. A recent report indicated that the longer the defender delays signing a contract, Liverpool would be forced to listen to offers for him this summer.
Disastrous news for the reds
Losing one player this summer would be bad news, but losing up to three would be terrible. Liverpool cannot afford to lose three of their starting back four in the upcoming window. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are set to leave when their contracts expire. Losing Ibrahima Konate would be a disaster.
Liverpool need to act fast and tie down the French defender. They need to sort out his future with less than a year left on his current deal. Three departures is bad, but trying to find three quality replacements in one window will almost be impossible.
