Liverpool will have a fight on their hands to make a major signing.
The reds continue to gear up for what will be a big summer transfer window. Arne Slot is expected to be backed by the club after a successful campaign so far. When Jurgen Klopp left Anfield, no one saw Liverpool competing for trophies so soon. With a few months to go, the reds could win the treble by the end of the season.
Liverpool now have a 15-point lead over Arsenal in the Premier League. Slot could lift his first trophy of the campaign against Newcastle this weekend. The reds will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League midweek. Liverpool bring a 1-0 win from Paris ahead of the second leg at Anfield.

Ahead of this summer, the reds will be busy in the transfer market to improve the team. The defence will be one major area of focus. Liverpool could lose up to three starters in their backline before next season. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are out of contract this summer, and could leave on free transfers. Ibrahima Konate has also been identified as a major target for big European clubs. With a year left on his current deal, Liverpool may be forced to sell him in the upcoming window.
Andrew Robertson is another first team star who has a year left on his contract. Multiple sources report that Liverpool will be eager to keep him past next year, and could offer him a short-term extension. The club’s plan is to keep him as competition when they bring in a new left back this summer.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. But the reds are not alone, according to Caught Offside, Real Madrid have added the left back to their shortlist of targets this summer. The Spanish giants have identified the Hungarian international as a possible transfer target ahead of next season. Bournemouth will be unwilling to sell, but may part ways for around £40million. Kerkez’s agent recently mentioned that his client is ready for a move to a bigger club.
Reds have a battle on their hands
Milos Kerkez has had an impressive campaign this year. His fine form and Bournemouth’s European ambitions have put the 21-year old on multiple clubs’ radars. There is a very slim chance that Kerkez stays at his club next season.
