This season has been an interesting one for Liverpool fans. The club has one of the best attacking records in Europe, however the personnel have not matched the statistics. Outside Salah who has been directly involved in over 40 goals this campaign, the next top scorer in the league is Luis Diaz with 9 goals. This is part of the reason Arne Slot has requested for new faces in the summer.
Reports claim that Liverpool will go big as they look to improve upon their attack. A new striker is the priority according to multiple outlets. This week, Liverpool have made contact with Alexander Isak’s representatives ahead of a possible move.
One thing is for certain ahead of the upcoming window, Newcastle will reject any swap deal. According to The Mirror, the Magpies have rejected any thoughts of a swap deal involving Isak. The report claims that Newcastle will not entertain any proposal involving Darwin Nunez.
Earlier this week, Newcastle Chief Executive Darren Eales said the club will not be forced to sell their best players:
“They’re all under long-term contracts. We have no intention at all of those players being moved on. We’re not under the gun or anything like that,” Eales said.
“As you know, we’ve got an ownership that is ambitious and wants the best for the club. So from that perspective, it would be crazy for us to consider it.”
The Magpies would be very reluctant to let go of Isak, but a reported £100million fee could get the deal over the line.
