Liverpool will let ”frustrated” player leave this summer

Liverpool have a lot of decisions to make at the end of the season.

The club is yet to sort out the futures of their best players. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all set to leave this summer. All three have been linked with a move away from the club when their contracts expire. It would be a shame to lose the trio, who have been key to the team’s success this season.

Arne Slot has guided Liverpool to a very successful campaign, which could end with trophies. The club took one step closer to their treble aspirations in the Champions League. Liverpool beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 away from home. Many consider the game a shock result after the French side dominated most of the proceedings. It took heroic performances from Alisson and the Liverpool backline to preserve the result.

Arne Slot made a bold decision late on in the game. He took off Mohamed Salah, who had been poor on the night and brought on Harvey Elliot. Slot also trusted Darwin Nunez to come on for the dying moments. The move paid off as both substitutes combined to score the winner. Nunez won an aerial duel, brought down the ball and laid it off to Elliot who calmly put it past the keeper.

Liverpool secured a crucial result ahead of their second leg at Anfield next week. PSG boss Luis Enrique thinks his side should have won the game.

Football Insider have revealed that Liverpool will be willing to let Harvey Elliot leave this summer. The midfielder has found it difficult to start games this season due to the form of Mac Allister and Gravenberch. Liverpool planned to offer the 21-year old a contract extension in January, but now it looks like the offer will not be accepted. Elliot wants assurances over his place in the team, and if the club cannot guarantee him a spot, he will look elsewhere.

His status at the club looks even more shaky, with the reds looking to bring in a new midfielder in the upcoming window. Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller is reportedly a target.

Reds need to keep Elliot

Clubs in the Premier League would kill to have a talent like Harvey Elliot. Liverpool and Arne Slot need to do everything possible to keep him at Anfield. His unique ability to fill in multiple roles has been key this season. At 21, he still has a lot of years ahead of him to become a permanent starter.
