Liverpool will be in the market for two major areas this summer.
The attack has been a problem for the club this season. Arne Slot is reportedly unhappy with the depth up top. Since he took over, the Dutch coach has not been a fan of Darwin Nunez, opting to use Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota up front. Outside Mohamed Salah this season, the second-highest scorer in the league for the reds is Diaz with nine goals. In the recent games against Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle, both teams marked Salah out of the game. It pretty much rendered Liverpool toothless as they struggled to create anything.
Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz may be made available this summer to raise funds for new additions. Reports claim a striker will be a high priority in the upcoming window.

Heading into the summer, the reds could lose two of their starting back four. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are set to leave on free transfers. Trent has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and has signed a deal according to reports. Ibrahima Konate could also be a surprise exit this summer. Liverpool will decide whether to sell the French international, whose contract expires in 2026. He has a new deal on the table, but is yet to decide his future.
This inevitably means Liverpool will be in the market for a new defender. The reds have been heavily linked with Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen. But in a stunning turn of events, Real Madrid have joined the race. According to Sky Sports Switzerland, the Spanish side are engaged in talks with the 19-year old defender. They could swoop for the Premier League star who has a reported £50million release clause this summer.
Inside sources claim the newly capped Spain international is edging towards a move to La Liga. Madrid are hoping to lure Huijsen to the club, and have engaged in talks to deter competition from other clubs like Liverpool.
Reds could miss out on a major target
Liverpool could lose up to three starters in defence, they need to move quickly to secure a replacement. Huijsen’s release clause is affordable, and after his impressive campaign, there are no question marks over his readiness at this level. The reds need to move fast before they miss out on a prime target.
