It may be without much experience as a first-team coach, but Pep Lijnders brings much promise to RB Salzburg as he ventures out on his own after leaving Liverpool.
A clip of the Dutch coach in the dressing room with his new players has gone viral and it shows Lijnders at his best.
The former Liverpool assistant coach is a passionate and motivating leader and this has been showcased very early on his tenure with the Austrian club.
After Lijnders and his players qualified for the Champions League, he was seen in the dressing room hyping up his players.
Speaking to his players, he began: “You need to earn to go into the Champions League. You need to earn it!”
Then he said: “And my god, you guys earned it!”

Liverpool may have lost a very talented and grounded coach but RB Salzburg have benefitted tremendously.
The best part is that such was the magnitude of his accomplishments at Anfield, he has gained a devout sect of supporters for life and I’ve even seen some fans online say that they would love to see him earn the chance to manage Liverpool later in his managerial career.
I would personally love that and as you can see from this clip, Lijnders himself wouldn’t want the Liverpool job if he wasn’t deserving of the position. If he wants it all, that is.
All the same, it’s going to be fascinating to watch him this season!
