Premier League star dismisses Liverpool move

Liverpool can rule out one transfer move ahead of this summer.

The reds are gearing up for next season the right way. There are plans in place to revamp the squad to compete next year. Arne Slot did his best with the squad this season, but in the crucial moments, Liverpool just lacked the quality. In their two Champions League ties against Paris Saint-Germain, this problem was evident.

While the French side could bring on the likes of Lee Kang-In and Desire Doue, the reds could only bring on Darwin Nunez and Wataru Endo. Not to say the duo are bad players, but in a competition like the Champions League, you need the best of the best to compete.

There is already news of Liverpool putting up players for sale ahead of the upcoming window. Arne Slot is reportedly unhappy with the clubs attacking options outside Mohamed Salah. Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez have all failed to step up in recent months. All four have been inconsistent for long stretches of the season, and it is understood Slot wants new faces in the door by the start of next season.

The latest news this week also reveals that Liverpool are open to selling a number of key first team stars, including midfielder Harvey Elliot. Earlier this season, the reds were reportedly open to offering him a new contract, but it seems unlikely now.

One player that will not be arriving at Anfield this summer is Antonee Robinson. The Fulham defender shut down rumours of a move to Liverpool this week. He was speaking to ESPN in an interview:

“So I know that there’s two sides to the coin. You just have to take everything with a grain of salt. You have to believe in yourself and when things are going bad, focus on yourself, and when things are going good, focus on keeping going.

“So, transfer rumors and stuff like that, I try not to look at. Especially like with the Liverpool one – all my friends and family are from Liverpool, so it’s more of them messaging me than me seeing newspaper stuff. And I have to say, ‘Look, it’s just, just a story in the paper and anyone who’s doing well is going to get linked to a team.”

Robinson has been one of the most consistent left backs in the Premier League over the last year.
