Paris Saint-Germain to launch all-out bid for Liverpool star

Foreign clubs are in pole position to sign key players at Liverpool.

The club is on the verge of losing three players this summer as they would be out of contract. As of this month, all three are free to negotiate pre-contracts with foreign clubs. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been strongly linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, on the other hand, have made it clear that they would like to stay at Anfield if the Reds matched their terms. Ex-Reds striker Emile Heskey even hinted that the duo would sign new deals in the summer:

“I believe two of them will be [staying at Liverpool], definitely,”

“The third one — Trent Alexander-Arnold — is a bit 50-50.”

Paris Saint-Germain added Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to bolster their attack for a reported €70 million plus add-ons. The French club are also planning to strengthen its forward line further in the summer, with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah emerging as their primary target.

L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi reported that PSG know it would be impossible to sign the Egyptian forward this month, and will wait for the summer where they can sign him on a free transfer. It is understood that the Ligue 1 side will “do everything” this summer to sign Mohamed Salah.

If the 32-year old allows his contract to run out in the summer, there will be a lot of clubs chasing his signature. He has already been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, but it is understood that Salah would prefer to stay in Europe.

Reds need to make a decision on Mohamed Salah

Liverpool have had a fantastic season so far, with Salah leading the charge. The forward has 18 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League and is already being considered an early favourite for the Ballon d’Or. Salah has been the club’s most reliable player over the past few seasons, and it would be such a shame if the club allowed this to be the end of his career.

The club needs to sort the future of the trio before it serves as a distraction for the players later in the campaign. If Liverpool do decide to let Salah go, the club need to find a worthy successor on the right flank.
