Liverpool could finally complete €50m deal + Liverpool set to bid £30m for 'unplayable' monster
In Tuesday's Liverpool Roundup, the Reds have been tipped to sign Jonathan David, Kostas Tsimikas will stay at Anfield and the Reds are in a strong position to sign Saul.
Jurgen Klopp tipped to rock the boat
Jurgen Klopp could refuse to sell Xherdan Shaqiri in protest against FSG, claims Kevin Phillips.
“You would think that winning trophies would give you the money,” Phillips told Football Insider.
“He might say to the board that he can’t afford to let players go unless they give him what he wants, as a sort of protest."
Jonathan David very high on Liverpool's list
On Monday evening, Sports Centre reporter Matthew Sciannitti claimed that if Lille decide to sell Jonathan David, Liverpool could pounce.
"Liverpool has long kept tabs on the Canadian’s development."
Liverpool turn Napoli away for Tsimikas
Kostas Tsimikas has now been the subject of two loan approaches from Napoli but Liverpool have no intention of letting him leave.
Despite his struggles last season, Jurgen Klopp wants him to stay at Anfield for the 2021/22 season and his pre-season displays are evidence as to why.
Selling Origi will be a feather in Edwards' cap
Michael Edwards has made a name for himself by selling the likes of Dominic Solanke and yet selling Divock Origi for major cash will be his biggest accomplishment yet.
Michael Edwards secured a £19million fee for Dom Solanke before earning £23.5million from Rhian Brewster's sale.
While those deals were fantastic at the time, Edwards may now find himself in a position where interested clubs are using them as a bargaining chip to argue that Liverpool strikers don't always fare well away from Anfield.
Chelsea no longer in race to sign Chiesa
This week, Liverpool’s bid for Federico Chiesa was confirmed by Florian Plettenberg and after Chelsea also made an offer, it looks like the Blues are no longer interested.
Now, Chelsea have reportedly made a huge bid worth the same amount to Inter Milan for Romelu Lukaku and it could give Liverpool a free run at Chiesa if they can convince Juve to part ways with the Italian.
The initial report from Repubblica did state that Juve consider Chiesa untouchable but as we have seen in the past, every player has his price and if FSG really did sanction a bid of €100m (£85m) for Chiesa, then it would be interesting to discover what price Juventus would sell the 23-year-old at.
Jurgen Klopp is a massive fan of Traore
Liverpool are reportedly set to bid £30million for Adama Traore and I've gone back to find quotes from Jurgen Klopp on the Wolves speed demon.
According to a report from a week ago from the Daily Star, Liverpool are preparing to bid £30million to sign Adam Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The German told reporters: "[Traore] is unplayable in moments, it’s unbelievable. What a player – it’s not only him but he’s so good."
Liverpool in strong Saul position
Saul's move from Atletico Madrid is increasingly close and Liverpool are in a strong position to sign him, according to reputable Spanish outlet Sport.
They claim that Liverpool and Manchester United are the running favourites to sign him and now say that his departure from the capital is 'increasingly close'.
While Saul has a €150million (£128m) release clause in his Atleti contract, the La Liga outfit is prepared to accept a huge loss and sell him for €50m (£43m).
Adding Saul or another suitably talented, industrious and experienced midfielder is not just important - it's imperative.
